Setup Walkthrough: Connect in Under 5 Minutes

Contentful Setup

  1. Create a Contentful Management API token in your Contentful space settings (Settings > API Keys > Content Management Tokens)
  2. In Syncific, add a new destination and select Contentful. Paste the Management API token and your Space ID.
  3. Select your target environment (master or a staging environment). Syncific validates the connection immediately.
  4. Browse any connected source, select assets, and publish. Assets appear in your Contentful Media library with full metadata (alt text, title, description).
  5. Format: AVIF by default (Contentful CDN via Imgix supports AVIF with automatic WebP fallback for older browsers).

Webflow Setup

  1. In Syncific, add a new destination and select Webflow. Click "Connect with Webflow" to start the OAuth flow.
  2. Authorize Syncific in the Webflow OAuth screen. Select which site to connect.
  3. Syncific stores the OAuth token in the broker with AES-256 encryption. The token never touches your browser storage.
  4. Publish assets from any source. Images are converted to AVIF and uploaded directly to your Webflow Assets panel via the Webflow Assets API.
  5. In-place updates: when a source image changes, Syncific replaces it at the same asset URL in Webflow. No broken CMS references.

HubSpot Setup

  1. In Syncific, add a new destination and select HubSpot. Click "Connect with HubSpot" to start the OAuth flow.
  2. Authorize Syncific in the HubSpot OAuth screen. Grant access to the Files tool.
  3. Assets are uploaded to HubSpot File Manager via the Files API. They are available across all HubSpot tools: website pages, landing pages, emails, and social.
  4. Format: WebP by default (HubSpot CDN delivers WebP with JPEG fallback). Configurable per destination.
  5. Published assets appear in HubSpot File Manager under a Syncific folder. File names, alt text, and metadata are preserved.

Why Headless CMSs Need a Different Approach

No Plugin Architecture

Traditional CMSs like WordPress have a plugin system that can pull assets from external sources. Headless CMSs are API-first — there is no server-side code to install. Every asset must be pushed programmatically via management APIs.

Authentication Complexity

Each headless CMS has its own authentication model: Contentful uses Management API tokens, Webflow uses OAuth 2.0, HubSpot uses OAuth with granular scopes. Syncific handles all three transparently through its broker.

Format Optimization Varies

Different headless CMS CDNs support different image formats. Contentful via Imgix handles AVIF natively. HubSpot works best with WebP. Syncific selects the optimal format per destination automatically.

No Native Creative Tool Integration

Contentful, Webflow, and HubSpot have no built-in connection to Lightroom, Figma, or Canva. Getting assets from creative tools to headless CMSs traditionally requires custom code. Syncific replaces that custom code with a managed pipeline.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is headless CMS asset delivery? +

Headless CMS asset delivery is the automated process of pushing media assets to a headless CMS (like Contentful, Webflow, or HubSpot) via its management API — without installing a plugin or agent on the destination.

Why is it hard to get assets into a headless CMS? +

Headless CMSs are API-first and have no plugin architecture — every asset must be uploaded through their management API with proper authentication, format handling, and metadata. This requires custom code or a purpose-built delivery platform.

Can I import images from Lightroom directly into Contentful? +

Yes, with Syncific. Connect your Lightroom account as a source and Contentful as a destination. Syncific handles the OAuth, fetches your albums, converts images to AVIF, and uploads via the Contentful Management API.

Does Syncific require a plugin on my headless CMS? +

No. Syncific uses each headless CMS native management API for asset delivery. Contentful via the Management API, Webflow via the Assets API, and HubSpot via the File Manager API.

How does Syncific deliver assets to Webflow without a plugin? +

Syncific uses the Webflow Assets API to upload files directly to your Webflow site asset library. The broker authenticates via Webflow OAuth and delivers images pre-optimized.

What is a webhook destination in Syncific? +

A Custom HTTP API destination lets you publish assets to any platform with an HTTP endpoint. Configure your endpoint URL, authentication, payload format, and metadata mapping — Syncific handles the delivery the same way it handles native destinations.

Can Syncific deliver assets to a custom headless CMS via API? +

Yes. Yes. Add a Custom HTTP API destination with your endpoint URL, auth headers, and payload template. Syncific delivers optimized assets to your custom platform with the same compression, metadata, and sync map tracking as native destinations.
